ISMS continued to grow stronger by adding an ophthalmology team. Through the help of friends Dr. Gentile and Dr. Allam were introduced to each other. Combining their ideas together resulted in this highly specialized chapter of ISMS.
Dr. Gentile felt that he is at stage in his career that will allow him to extend helping hands to those in needs in poor countries. Dr. Allam thought that the experience ISMS gained during its history and its resources can sustain expansion to bring more help to more patients. After a brief meeting the hard work has began. Dr. Gentile recruited a team of colleagues who share the same goal knowing that their expertise will cover all aspects of eye surgery. The team launched their first mission to Morocco in October 2009.
